[NEWS] Jang Geun Suk kicks off his Asian tour in Singapore


Actor Jang Geun Suk kicked off his 2011 Asia Tour in Singapore on April 23rd.

Standing in front of 1,500 of his international fans, the actor opened the concert with a performance of his latest Japanese single, “Let Me Cry“, followed by tracks from the “Mary Stayed Out All Night” OST.

Local reporters and fans took much interest in his day-to-day activities during his stay there by following him around everywhere he went. On the 22nd, he held a press conference before his concert and interacted with 400 special fans through various events like team dancing.

The actor stated, “I felt that I was truly a happy person while performing. I’ll be working hard to make sure that I repay all of my fans’ love and support.”

Jang Geun Suk’s latest Japanese single, “Let Me Cry”, will be released in Japan on the 27th.

[NEWS] Jang Geun Suk releases his own iPhone app


On April 9th, actor Jang Geun Suk released his very own “Jang Geun Suk Application” in an effort to converse more directly with his fans.

iPhone users were the first to download the special app. On the first day of its release, the app managed to rank in at 26th for the day’s best sales category.

The app allows fans to send live messages, as well as see photos he uploads directly. Producers revealed that the app is different from others in that Jang Geun Suk himself is able to participate with fans from a variety of different locations live.

Jang Geun Suk commented, “It’s a lot of fun being able to communicate with my fans live like this. Since a long time back, I’d always write diary entry-type letters to my fans, and I always wondered what they were thinking as well. I’m addicted to this app lately because it’s so easy to use and it’s live.

The app will be released on the Android market soon.

[NEWS] Jang Geun Suk selected as the main Japanese model for “Nature Republic”


Hallyu actor Jang Geun Seuk was recently selected to be the official model for “Nature Republic“.

Thanks to his soaring popularty in Japan, Jang Geun Seuk will be promoting as the main Japanese model for the make-up brand for the next year.

A representative revealed, “With both talent and star potential, Jang Geun Suk has been rising as the latest Hallyu star with the popularity of his drama, ‘You’re Handsome‘, which recently began airing in Japan. His wholesome, pure image fit well with our brand’s image, which is why we came to choose him.”

Jang Geun Suk commented, “I’m very glad and honored to be chosen as a model for the brand.”

Starting April 20th, fans can look out for advertisements through Nature Republic’s Japanese homepage

[NEWS] Jang Geun Suk Wins CMA’s Most Influential Korean Artist Award

On April 15th, Jang Geun Suk won the Most Influential Korean Artist Award at the 15th China Music Award and Asian Influential Awards (CMA) in Chengdu, China. The CMA is known as the Grammy of the East and has fourteen years of history. Almost all of the stars present were from Chinese-speaking countries; and they included Jackie Chan, Pan Wilber, Kang Moon, and Leehom Wang. Jang Geun Suk was the only foreign star to have been invited to the event. He showed his stage manners and care for his fans by making his thank you speech in three different languages: Korean, English, and Chinese.

Jang Geun Suk stated, “It was an honor to have been invited to such an amazing event. Thank you so much for all your love and support. I will continue to work harder.” He headed off to Shanghai the next day for a press conference to announce his exclusive contract agreement with HS Media. The agency will help him promote his activities in Chinese-speaking countries. Currently, Jang Geun Seuk is preparing for his Asian Tour that will take him to countries like Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, and China. He will also be releasing a debut single in Japan on April 27th.

[NEWS] Jang Geun Suk’s “You’re Beautiful” to Have a Movie Version in Japan


Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, and Park Shin Hye’s megapopular drama You’re Beautiful (2009) is enjoying tremendous popularity in Japan as well. From May 6th to the 19th, Japanese fans will be able to enjoy a movie version of the hit series in theaters. The drama is about fictional boy band A.N.Jell and the relationship between its members when Go Mi Nyeo (Park Shin Hye) pretends to be her twin brother and joins the group.

You’re Beautiful’s actors are also enjoying explosive popularity both in Korea and abroad. Jang Geun Suk was able to strengthen his status as the international hallyu star of the next generation. Jang will release a debut Japanese single on April 27th. Singer Lee Hong Ki was able to be recognized for his acting skills and was casted in a Japanese drama titled Muscle Girl. Both Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye have been casted for upcoming MBC drama You Fell in Love with Me, directed by Pyo Min Soo.

Jang Geun Suk, who played Hwang Tae Kyung in the series, stated, “You’re Beautiful is able to have movie version thanks to all the love and support from its fans. I’m excited to see how the movie turns out. I hope fans will enjoy this surprising treat.”

Korean movie remake of “Kimi wa Petto” holds launch event in Japan



Anyyeonghaseyo. Si Ganteng Jang Geun Suk datang ke Jepang buat promosi Film terbarunya, yang merupakan remake dari dorama Jepang yang berjudul serupa. Di film ini Jang Geun Suk bakalan menjadi piaraan Kim Ha Neul. Piaraan? Haha. Ini dia liputannya.

On March 3rd, the cast of the Korean “Kimi wa Petto” film remake attended a launch event in Japan’s Ibaraki Airport.

“Kimi wa Petto” (You’re My Pet), based on a manga of the same name, was made into a hit drama in 2003, starring model/actress Koyuki and Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun, and the same roles will be portrayed by actors Kim Ha Neul and Jang Geun Suk in the remake. In the original story, the male character becomes the ‘pet’ of the female protagonist after being found abandoned in a cardboard box.

The two lead actors attended the promotional event along with band group FT Island’s Choi Jong Hun and director Kim Byeong Kon. The cast met with around 3000 fans.

Kim told the press, “Jang Geun Suk, who is a great actor, also has a cute charisma that suits a ‘pet‘.” Jang replied, “I’m happy to be Ha Neul’s pet.”

Filming for the movie will begin in the city of Ibaraki in May.

Multi-talented entertainer Jang Geun Suk is gearing up to drop his debut Japanese single, “Let Me Cry“, on March 23rd.

Although its official release date is still a few weeks away, fans can bide the time by listening to the audio for “Let Me Cry”. It’s a great rock song that shows a different side to Jang Geun Suk’s musicality.

The single will be available in two formats: CD-only and CD+DVD. To celebrate its release, the star will be holding a special live showcase on March 27th for his fans in Japan.

Hallyu star Jang Geun Suk is the endorsement model for Seoul’s makgeolli (Korean rice wine), and he recently released his Japanese CFs for the product through Japan’s Suntory company.

The clip shows the actor demonstrating how to “deliciously drink makgeolli” in fluent Japanese. The background music, “Bye Bye Bye,” was also sung by the actor himself.

He commented, “I think this ad was a great idea in promoting Korea’s makgeolli in Japan. Makgeolli has become popular in Japan lately, and I heard that a lot of people have started drinking it, so I hope that through this advertisement, more people will give love to our makgeolli.”

Meanwhile, the actor has postponed the release of his debut single in Japan, in addition to cancelling and refunding tickets to his official showcase concert. He recently took part in a photoshoot in England, and returned home to prepare for his upcoming Asian tour.
